Understanding Modern Excavator Trucks

Unlike a few decades ago, there is a need to protect the environment during excavation. Modern excavation companies are turning to hydro excavation because it is environmentally friendly. The special excavator trucks we use at 4 Warriors are commonly known as hydro-vac trucks.  Compared to traditional trucks, hydro-vac trucks are not only reliable but also more efficient.

Understanding Modern Excavator Trucks

How These Special Excavator Trucks Work

Hydro-vac trucks work differently from traditional excavation trucks. They deploy state-of-the-art technology that combines air vacuum and pressurized water. A hydro-vac truck has two main components, which include a suction hose and a high-pressure water hose.

The role of the high-pressure water from the excavator truck is to soften and loosen the soil while the industrial vacuum sucks the broken rock and soil debris into the back of the truck. This explains why the truck has an inbuilt holding tank. The hydro-vac truck not only holds a significant amount of soil debris, but also transports it to the disposal area.

With the technology that comes with these special excavator trucks, excavating can be done while evading utility lines. Unlike traditional truck excavators, these special excavator trucks do not interfere with the environment. For instance, hydro-vac trucks will not kill trees by damaging their roots.

Besides, hydro-vac trucks work faster than traditional excavator trucks. They are easy and safe to operate, too.
