The Hydro Excavation Process
Hydro excavation uses pressurized water and an industrial-strength vacuum process to loosen, move and remove soil. The work is completed via specialized trucks equipped with water and a high-powered vacuum mechanism. On the jobsite, a high-pressure stream of water from the truck is used to break up the soil. As it loosens, the soil and rock debris is vacuumed up into the debris holding tank within the truck, where it is stored for later transportation and disposal. A key benefit over traditional excavation, hydro excavation services can be done incrementally with delicate and precise movement that virtually eliminates the opportunity for collateral damage to underground infrastructure and tree roots.
